00:08 - Nachi (Host)

Welcome to another episode of I'm Not Yellen, I'm Dominican podcast hosted by Nachi and Damaris. Hey everybody and welcome back. This is your girl, achi, and I'm here with.

00:20 - Damaris (Host)

Damaris, your favorite delicate flower.

00:25 - Nachi (Host)

And on this episode we're going to keep it light and fun and we're going to share our top five favorites in movies, TV shows, music and much more. So let's get started.

00:38 - Damaris (Host)

I'm so excited for this episode. This is our last one for the season and I thought that this would be a great opportunity for our listeners to get to know us better. I know we dropped little tidbits of our personality and the various episodes we've had, but there's a lot more context that goes into why we think the way we do and why we like the things that we like, and I feel like this one is going to be fun, like you mentioned, and just something to get to know us a little bit better and be our primos and primas out there and extend the love.

01:19 - Nachi (Host)

Definitely, definitely. So this one, this is a little bit hard for me to go through this assignment only because it was just like so many different songs and shows and we were just like, oh, but I like this one or I like that one. So I kind of had to bring it down to a certain I had to define it in a way where it's just like, okay, I'm confined to these songs or movies or whatever because of a certain reason, and they have oh my God, I felt the same way.

01:58

Yeah, it had some level of you know, like there was some story behind it and so it would be cool to share.

02:06 - Damaris (Host)

Yeah, I also as going through the categories, I struggled as well with just whittling down and I figured out like, is this really my top five favorite? Yeah, but I'm like it's my top five favorite for writing now Right right that just changed. So, guys, this isn't static, so don't at me, don't be like, oh my God, why are you like-. Yes, don't at me, I don't care. This is what I like right now, and maybe I'll like it for the next 20 years.

02:36 - Nachi (Host)

I don't know. There's a reason why I like it and I'm going to continue liking it. So that's that. Thank you, yes.

02:45 - Damaris (Host)

It's funny. When we get into the music I feel like, well, why don't we just get into it? Which category do you want to start with?

02:53 - Nachi (Host)

We can do songs.

02:55 - Damaris (Host)

Okay, I'll start and I'm going to say, you know, this is for me, is not in any particular order, but again, like, the songs that I selected are just. These songs make me feel away and I like how it makes me feel. So I'll start with one of my favorite songs. One of my top five songs is Careless Whisper by Wham. Now, this song is a song that I use, that is my go-to for karaoke.

03:29

I'm never going to dance again he said guilty feet, I've got no rhythm, Okay. And then at the end it's like, if you listen closely, they're like you know like it is the real. I love it. It's a vibe If you don't get it. If you know, you know, and if you don't know, then you don't know.

03:50 - Nachi (Host)

It's definitely a feel good song. Once you hear it, it's like you get happy, like oh shit, this wham.

03:59 - Damaris (Host)

Yeah, it's the saxophone playing in the beginning. Yeah, all of that. I mean, I think, it's a sax, I don't know.

04:07 - Nachi (Host)

But you know, that's one of my top five. One of my top five is and I have a little story behind it. So growing up, I always felt and you know this, I always felt like a caged bird, right. This is what I like to say yes.

04:27 - Damaris (Host)

My parents didn't let me be on videos and dance.

04:31 - Nachi (Host)

I can't do anything. I can't go here, I can't go there. I always wanted to be part of some some shit, and so when Janet Jackson came out with her control album, you felt.

04:44 - Damaris (Host)

You felt that was talking to you, like yes, I'm being controlled by these Dominican parents. Yes, yes, I was like control you felt seen.

04:52 - Nachi (Host)

Yes, yes, control was my song. I could, I would sing it and dance in the room. Remember, we had a little stereo. Yes, yes. In my room and every time I would play I had to. Our brother brought the, brought the album for me.

05:09 - Damaris (Host)

And, guys, that was, that was your first album and I love, I love Frani. Shout out to Frani.

05:13 - Nachi (Host)

Yes, yes, and he brought that album for me and I will play it over and over again and every time control came on, I was just singing, I was oh, and I would act, and I would act like I was singing it to your mother.

05:28 - Damaris (Host)

Wow, you're wild.

05:32 - Nachi (Host)

Oh my God, if she only knew Only if she knows, oh girl. And then she would say I never controlled.

05:39 - Damaris (Host)

Oh yeah, no, no, no. Now she's like she has no memory of what she, how she was strict or restricted our freedom in any kind of capacity.

05:49 - Nachi (Host)

And this was before memory issues.

05:51 - Damaris (Host)

Oh, my goodness.

05:54 - Nachi (Host)

So that was my friend instilled in is still my favorite song and that album is my favorite. And I know when we were talking about and coming up with topics we had said I think one of the categories we came up with was album at first and I was like, oh, I don't think I have enough albums to say. But as I was working I was like, oh, I do have quite a few favorite albums, we'll do some honorary mentions at the end.

06:23

Yeah, yeah. So control is definitely one of them, and that hasn't been my favorite and still is my favorite to this day.

06:31 - Damaris (Host)

Oh nice, I'm not sure if she's in it. Yes, Janet is a beast. She did it Like pleasure principle. Actually, I'm gonna have to throw pleasure principle in this.

06:40 - Nachi (Host)

Yeah, no, that's how it's six for me.

06:42 - Damaris (Host)

Pleasure principle, that video where she's like she's first of all, she's by herself, she's dressed in black, her hair was looking fly.

06:51 - Nachi (Host)

She's in a black to be shirt, flowing hair, and she was dancing and killed everything she did in that video. Like if I gotta go back and see it again.

07:02 - Damaris (Host)

This is before your time and you're listening. You need to go look that video up on YouTube. You're going to be like, oh okay, she was a vibe, it was an energy and she actually, you know she was. She's a dancer, she's a natural dancer. She's like her brother, Michael. And so and you could see it right. And there wouldn't be a Beyonce without a.

07:24 - Nachi (Host)

Janet having done what she did, period, and Beyonce is a great performer but.

07:29 - Damaris (Host)

I'm just saying Janet was Janet first.

07:32 - Nachi (Host)

That's it. She is everything, she is definitely everything.

07:37 - Damaris (Host)

My next one I'm going to have to say is In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins. Yes, I am very much 80s. I know y'all like damn, she's stuck in a jacket. Yes, I am. My heart is so. I'm like seven. Listening to this song, I can feel it, it's a vibe, like you listen to that drop, that beat drop.

08:07 - Nachi (Host)

He kills it. Yeah, it's done. It's done.

08:11 - Damaris (Host)

You need to read the lyrics to that song, because the lyrics has me down. I think he's like I can see you dying and I wouldn't care, or something like that. It's crazy. I love it.

08:21 - Nachi (Host)

I'm like I feel you, phil, I feel you, I see you. Yeah, it's funny because as I was going through the songs to us, I kept saying to myself damn, they're going to think like we're old. The songs that we grew up with and the songs that we loved in the 90s, early 2000s, has now become old school.

08:45 - Damaris (Host)

I know when people say old school and they're like oh, 2001. I'm like oh, y'all are wild, You're wild. That is not old school, you are wild.

08:54 - Nachi (Host)

Yes, yes, yes, you are Right, right, because we in 2023. I love them. They're like ma'am.

09:02 - Damaris (Host)

Ma'am, they're calling me ma'am now. Ma'am, please sit down somewhere, oh my goodness.

09:17 - Nachi (Host)

So my next one is just following the Jackson family. Remember the time by Michael Jackson?

09:24 - Damaris (Host)

What you took that from me, girl, you have that too, yes.

09:30 - Nachi (Host)

My goodness, I remember when the video came out and it was a thing. Everybody was just glued to the TV. Yes, and when I say you saw beautiful people.

09:43 - Damaris (Host)

Yes, oh, my goodness, yes, it was everything. Yes, it was no the chills you got when you saw them yes. And I mean, here's the thing about Michael he's like the most. He gave off the most swag for the most asexual person that I know Like yes, he was mad asexual, but when he performed and he sang those lyrics he had a lot of swag. Like you, listen to those lyrics he's like he said do you remember, girl?

10:17

Yes, on the phone, you and me. He said two dogs, two, three. What about us? Like, why are you playing? What about us? He said. And then, with the break, he's like do you, do you Right? No, do you. He's like come on. Oh my goodness, no, no that song, that video and when they were dancing.

10:40 - Nachi (Host)

he's like I bet you remember Wait he's like I bet you remember.

10:43 - Damaris (Host)

What do you mean?

10:44 - Nachi (Host)

They bet, I remember.

10:45 - Damaris (Host)

He's like, I bet you remember, like girl, stop playing. I know you remember, yeah.

10:51 - Nachi (Host)

And I'm like I do, michael.

10:53 - Damaris (Host)

I do no it was that song is a whole package. It's video lyrics. Song rhythm beat Just everything, michael Jackson was everything, and we need to let people know how we fumbled the bag with Michael Jackson. I'm prepared to embarrass us how you fumbled. How you fumbled.

11:18 - Nachi (Host)

How you fumbled.

11:21 - Damaris (Host)

Our father, Bobby, rest in power. He was a big fan of Michael Jackson and he asked us. I guess it was like in an early 90s too, because I think you would, just I can't remember.

11:38 - Nachi (Host)

It was the late 80s it was like 89.

11:39 - Damaris (Host)

Yeah, it was like late 80s early 90s. This is when Michael's going to be at the garden. Yeah, he was going to be at the garden. I think you might have been like in any grade or something, and he was going to be at the garden and he asked you first Nachi, you want to go to Michael Jackson, or?

11:57

actually he asked us and you were the first to answer. You were like no. I was like no. So I looked at my stupid ass teenage. I looked at my big sister. I'm like she says no, I guess not, don't play, don't play some blame on me, but. I have and I will and I'll continue. Yeah, yeah, no, that's what happened. That was terrible. No, it was. We fumbled the bag and now that man has died and he was there again, I don't know what.

12:30 - Nachi (Host)

I don't know how big stupid. Yeah, yeah, no big stupid.

12:34 - Damaris (Host)

There's no performer that I'm aware of since him where they will sell out stadiums where they play, like you know, football overseas and like football arenas are much bigger than the football arenas here in the United States because we play, you know what we call football, but football internationally is soccer and those soccer stadiums are ridiculous and who would perform sold out at those arenas and people would be fainting before the show even starts.

13:08 - Nachi (Host)

I mean, I've not seen any. It was ridiculous.

13:12 - Damaris (Host)

I've still not seen a performer where people are constantly fainting and crying.

13:16 - Nachi (Host)

And women and men, yes, everyone.

13:20 - Damaris (Host)

Yes. And our dumbasses like no, no, we don't want to go. No, we're too cool for school, dumbies.

13:31 - Nachi (Host)

Oh, my goodness.

13:33 - Damaris (Host)

Yeah Well, we fumbled the bag.

13:34 - Nachi (Host)

Yes.

13:36 - Damaris (Host)

That was a life lesson.

13:38 - Nachi (Host)

That was Okay.

13:43 - Damaris (Host)

So that was your second, so you took that from me, so I don't have that one anymore. Back to life by soul to soul. However, do you want it? Yeah?

13:59 - Nachi (Host)

However, do you need it.

14:01 - Damaris (Host)

Yes, I can't sing, so I'm not going to even attempt to write, but that song will get you hype. You'll think you're in that hype Williams movie belly. You think you're walking through the tunnel at your city.

14:17

Matt oils and lotion on your face. Yes, real shiny looking. But you're like I look, I'm a vibe, I'm, I'm it. Yes, that song will have you Right. I never got to go to the tunnel. I was sad. No, not you. You were older. You got to go and sneak away by the time, no, I was still in high school and the tunnel was not seen my ass, even though I knew people and our class going to the tunnel on a Sunday night. I'm like. I'll just be like how do you do that? How you go?

14:51

to school the next day I'm like how does that work? I don't even know what you're doing. I don't understand how that's possible, but you know what they did and I live like I was through them. I was like, oh, that sounds like a time I did not have.

15:09 - Nachi (Host)

But I knew of it.

15:10 - Damaris (Host)

No, because you probably went by the time you went to college and then it closed a few years after. Yeah, no, the tunnel, that was. That was the thing. But you know the, that song back to life. I could play that now. I mean how we were playing that in the in the house in Florida. Like jam, every day, all day, like I stood at five o'clock and you were off the clock for work. It was like, however, do you?

15:39 - Nachi (Host)

have it. Do you need me? That was the start of start of our evening and weekend.

15:46 - Damaris (Host)

Hello, that's definitely a good one Mm.

15:48 - Nachi (Host)

hmm. My next one takes me back to college. Now you know my love for Mary J Blight.

15:58 - Damaris (Host)

Hello.

16:00 - Nachi (Host)

Her first album for one, one with the four, one one, but I love the classic album. Oh okay, the album was the best, the best and my favorite one out of there was the song my Love. What you going to do without my love? My love. That's what I used to say yes, yes, I love that song. But that was my answer whenever some dude, I was dating.

16:32 - Damaris (Host)

We're at stupid.

16:33 - Nachi (Host)

That was my song. Oh boy that.

16:36 - Damaris (Host)

and we be feeling ourselves.

16:38 - Nachi (Host)

Yes, yes, that and guys, goodbye oh yes, guys, yes, goodbye. That was another answer.

16:46 - Damaris (Host)

God was great. I love that album.

16:48 - Nachi (Host)

Yes, yeah, and sadly I did not add them, but they have some great songs too. But yes, my Love remix album oh, that's a good one. I didn't even think about the remix one.

17:02 - Damaris (Host)

Yeah, yeah, okay, yeah.

17:03 - Nachi (Host)

Now shout out to the remix.

17:06 - Damaris (Host)

They don't do that anymore. They don't Her remix album that remix album. That was an era and I remember this one guy.

17:14 - Nachi (Host)

You know I went on a few dates and he was filming me and I wasn't, and I don't know what are we going to be got into. He took my CD and get out the damn car.

17:26 - Damaris (Host)

He said that's what I'm going to do with your love.

17:29 - Nachi (Host)

That's my CD, Hello, and of course you know later he won't apologize and bring me a damn puppy. I don't want to puppy.

17:37 - Damaris (Host)

Weirdo.

17:38 - Nachi (Host)

I can't even take care of myself. I'm in college.

17:40 - Damaris (Host)

Right, dami Stupid.

17:45 - Nachi (Host)

No, I want my CD. Thank you, oh, my goodness, that was my. That was my favorite song off that album.

17:54 - Damaris (Host)

Yeah, that's a good one. I think love without a limit is my favorite on that one.

17:59 - Nachi (Host)

I don't know something about that.

18:01 - Damaris (Host)

It was just a just such a simple key to it, a simple beat to it and just the lyrics is really I like that one.

18:08 - Nachi (Host)

Yeah, yeah, no, that one's good too, but yeah, no, that whole album was yeah reminisce.

18:14 - Damaris (Host)

Yeah, I mean yeah, that was a good album. I should have done top albums. Stay out. I know I'm telling you as I'm fumbled again, we fumbled again.

18:24 - Nachi (Host)

As I was going to the next I was like oh, but I kind of like more songs on this album than.

18:30 - Damaris (Host)

I thought I did yeah.

18:32 - Nachi (Host)

Yeah, I mean what's, what's your next one?

18:35 - Damaris (Host)

So my next one is I guess is my final one, but it is definitely top there because we already did. Do you remember Michael Jackson? But Fly Away by Lenny Kravitz, oh, first of all, I love me a Lenny, I love me a black rock star, oh. And then it's just like again, yes, yes, the lyrics. He's like you know, I just want to fly away like a dragon, fly away Like a dragon, fly the hell out of here. Okay, I'm like I feel you, but sometimes I feel that way too. And the guitar, everything, the riff, I'm like, yes, brother, yes, I love it all. He just he was, he still a vibe, he's still a vibe.

19:28

And that song it just in the video was like the perfect visual for that song, because it's like, yeah, you just had a party, you're just letting freight bro. You're like, yes, living your best life. That's how I felt listening to that song and I still feel that way. So I like these songs are top for me because it makes me feel away, it makes me feel good, I like the, the energy, the vibrations, you know, and keeping my frequencies high, and that's that, yeah, that's that's mine, mm-hmm yes, my.

20:03 - Nachi (Host)

My next one is Jill Scott. He loves me that song. First I want to say Jill.

20:16 - Damaris (Host)

Oh yeah, she's awesome.

20:18 - Nachi (Host)

She is Her voice is. Yes.

20:21 - Damaris (Host)

Chef's kiss man.

20:22 - Nachi (Host)

It's like she paints this pictures in her song Mm-hmm, Like yeah, so she's talking about he loves me and she's like, oh, my goodness.

20:31 - Damaris (Host)

You felt the love.

20:33 - Nachi (Host)

Of, yes, the depth of how he, this man, loves. So I'm like, oh, yes, girl, that's what I need. It's like she has a way of, yeah, yeah, Rubbing just the feeling and it's like, yes, yes, I am with you, girl. That has been one of my favorite. I love a lot of her songs, but that's one of my favorite.

21:00 - Damaris (Host)

Yeah, that first album of hers. Another one, yeah, that so many bangers Like there's just like so many good songs that you didn't have to skip, like I you know the album is awesome.

21:13 - Nachi (Host)

Yeah, that first album. You, oh my goodness.

21:15 - Damaris (Host)

I think every every song was yeah, yeah, you could just play it, and there was no skipping.

21:21 - Nachi (Host)

Mm-hmm, none whatsoever. Oh, I love it.

21:23 - Damaris (Host)

So I went through all five songs. Did you go through all five?

21:28 - Nachi (Host)

Um, oh, my last one was Erica Bardu's Next Lifetime. She's another one, that and that's another sweet song, Although it's talking about someone that she met, that just it wasn't the right time, right place type of thing. Right, right but it's just that.

21:51 - Damaris (Host)

But we've all met that kind of dude in your life. You know that person that's like, okay, maybe not now.

21:56 - Nachi (Host)

Yes, it's not gonna work this lifetime. Maybe in the next lifetime.

22:00 - Damaris (Host)

Yes, because you're crazy. You were a little funny, but you're hot, you're so fine, but you are not good for me. Yes, maybe another lifetime.

22:17 - Nachi (Host)

We've all had that Hopefully things things smooth over, Hopefully you get your life together, right, right, don't miss me too much. Okay, okay, oh goodness. Yes, that was definitely a good song. Oh, my favorite, that's nice, good, good.

22:39 - Damaris (Host)

Yeah, I'm excited to get into the Top 5 Rap Songs. I think this is a good segue to do that, and I think just add a little bit of context, because I know some people might be like, oh my God, top 5 Songs, but they didn't mention any Spanish songs, right? And I and you and I talked about this a while ago, in that I thought about it one time, about huh. You know, unlike some of our other cousins, I'm like we really don't listen to Spanish music like that. We grew up with it, but it's not my first choice. And then I started to think about well, why is that? And then I thought about our childhood and where we grew up. So, while we had cousins that lived in the part of the Bronx you know, fox Street, shout out to Fox Street.

23:27 - Nachi (Host)

Okay, we didn't grow up there.

23:31 - Damaris (Host)

We grew up in neighborhoods that were largely, at least at first, african American and Puerto Rican, with some sprinkles of Ecuadorians.

23:40

I had a few Ecuadorian kids in my grand school In my class in particular there was like two girls and then when we moved again, we moved to an area that then was more Caribbeanites and you know, and Puerto Ricans. So there was no, there was very not a lot of Dominicans at all, if any, and so our exposure to Spanish music was on the weekends, at home or when we would go to a house party, family event. But, thinking about the first years of our formative years, we grew up in River Park Towers and if people know that, it's in the Bronx and that is like a landmark place because that's literally across the street. We're right by Cedric Avenue, which is the birthplace of hip hop. We're right by that building where I think it's like what they call the birthplace of hip hop, because I think of Cool Herc or something I don't remember. But the point being was that our complex of buildings had these little retinas, these little yeah these little block parties and these little circular driveways right in front of our building.

24:47

They would set up turntables, ones and twos, and so literally we're on the second floor, we're looking out our window at DJs that are like on radio stations, just spinning yeah.

25:03 - Nachi (Host)

And people dancing. Yes, the latest hip hop joints the Y.

25:08 - Damaris (Host)

Breakdancing all of that, and we were upstairs because our mother was not going to let us go downstairs.

25:14 - Nachi (Host)

I was like we're on the second floor. You can see me from the window.

25:18 - Damaris (Host)

And she's like, and therefore you can watch too from the second floor.

25:21 - Nachi (Host)

Yes, this is what I'm talking about Cage Burr Wow.

25:24 - Damaris (Host)

Wow, anyway, I couldn't even have fun.

25:28 - Nachi (Host)

You did.

25:29 - Damaris (Host)

You could listen and you could watch with your eyes.

25:31 - Nachi (Host)

I was trying to have fun. I was trying to have fun.

25:33 - Damaris (Host)

She was like I'm trying to save my children, but you know. But in any case, though, we grew up with that Hip hop and R&B, like that's just what we were surrounded by outside of home, and even at home. Your father had a very eclectic taste in music, so it wasn't just Merengue and salsa. It was. I mean Lionel Richie. He loves Lionel Richie. Yes, that was the thing I mean. You put on all night long. That man is on the dance floor.

26:09 - Nachi (Host)

Yes, yes, he loves Stevie Wonder, stevie Wonder.

26:13 - Damaris (Host)

I mean Linda Ronstadt.

26:15 - Nachi (Host)

Yes.

26:16 - Damaris (Host)

Some of y'all might need to look her up because y'all don't know who she is. Big up to Linda Ronstadt Okay, who else? Zorba the Greek. You don't even remember that, but you used to listen to Zorba the Greek and I remember. The beat is in my head. So, oh, my God. So yeah, like you know this, our music, our music choices, reflect how we grew up and what we were surrounded by and what ultimately influenced us the most, and I'm grateful for that. Now you know that's, that's just what I love and it's just what it is. So, moving on to top five rap songs, this is where you're going to get to know me and where my heart gets really hard. I'm going to start off like with one of my top five. It's going to be I'll be there for you by Method man in Marry.

27:13 - Nachi (Host)

J Fly that was line two.

27:15 - Damaris (Host)

Yes, that was line two. I'm not big on the love rap song, but that one Listen listen.

27:27 - Nachi (Host)

It is a bop every time it comes on.

27:29 - Damaris (Host)

Every single time I could have that song on repeat Hmm, yes, definitely. Yes.

27:38 - Nachi (Host)

That is. That is definitely a repeat song. Yes, you could just hear it over and over again.

27:43 - Damaris (Host)

Yes, I love it.

27:46 - Nachi (Host)

I'm like yeah, that is my favorite, one of my favorites.

27:49 - Damaris (Host)

Because the remix, the original, all of it, and the video again, it's so gritty. It's so New York, I'm like, it's home, it's home. Method is so New York, it's home. Marry is so New York, it's home, it's just home. Yes, and I'm like, and if you're in a relationship, you feel it that much more, and even if you're not, you're like oh, I can't wait till I get a boo like that.

28:16 - Nachi (Host)

Okay, okay, oh my gosh, this is why we never even talked about this.

28:26 - Damaris (Host)

And look how we're having like the same songs.

28:29 - Nachi (Host)

Yeah, that's my favorite and I'm not. I'm more of an R&B person.

28:36 - Damaris (Host)

Yes, you're all sweet and you like all romance and love.

28:39 - Nachi (Host)

Yeah, yeah, that's, that's me, that's me. I love that. So, going through this, going through this, this exercise here with the rap songs, okay, well, of course I can't get with a lot I would say many of the rap songs nowadays, because I can't even understand.

28:58 - Damaris (Host)

I don't even know what they say. So it's like okay, that's why all of these songs are not of anything in the last Five years or now, even now, now, now.

29:10 - Nachi (Host)

But my, my favorite one after that I'll be there. Song is not if, if I rule the world.

29:21 - Damaris (Host)

Oh yes, because that has some.

29:23 - Nachi (Host)

Lauren Lauren Hill. Yeah, of course.

29:27 - Damaris (Host)

I'm like, of course, you would.

29:29 - Nachi (Host)

Yes, I love it. Yes, if I rule the world. Yes, yes, yes, that's my favorite. I love, I love it, although I like other songs from not though I didn't, yeah, he he's just smooth with it.

29:46 - Damaris (Host)

He's good. Like that's just one of my favorite rappers and musical artists, period. Like he's just. His lyrics are great and most of the time, when his record company wasn't digging him over, he would have some great producers and his beats were just that because I'm the type of person that I just can't, especially when it comes to rap.

30:05

It's just not enough to have like great lyrics and you're on this lame ass beat Like. That's just not going to work for me. I need to feel both. I need to feel what you're saying and then also you know, okay, I feel that beat like okay, yeah.

30:18

I see where you're coming from and Naz is definitely he's great at that, he's a storyteller and he's just and he's just smooth with it. Yeah, no, that one, that song, yeah, and I think it's some really fresh things. That I was like okay, naz. He was like, if it was a perfect girl, I go down on every girl and I'm like, oh, okay, okay, naz. Well, well, all right.

30:44 - Nachi (Host)

It was only a perfect word.

30:45 - Damaris (Host)

Right.

30:46 - Nachi (Host)

Right. I'm like okay, Sign me up. Oh my gosh.

30:53 - Damaris (Host)

Right, so anyway, moving on to the next song. So for me, let's see, okay, you know, I have to show so much love to Harlem. Harlem, stand up, I really mean it by the diplomats, if y'all know, you know stand up dip set.

31:19

This is what I'm talking about. I really mean it is just like quintessential Harlem and not this new Harlem where we got all these new people. I mean Harlem Harlem and it came run like his lyrics, just be so wild and crazy and I appreciate it. I just appreciate it because he is he is hard Look personified.

31:46 - Nachi (Host)

Yes, and you was going crazy when they were on versus, it was the fire. I wish I had a video. Yeah, no, I was like saluting like crazy. Yeah, the rise was like she was up there with, though.

32:00 - Damaris (Host)

And then I got embarrassed. I was like I was embarrassed with their performance on versus.

32:05

I'm like oh, I was busy on the corner playing C Low and playing C Low and thinking I didn't have to do sound checks and practice. I see what y'all did. Anyway, that's yet, that's sidebar. But yes, no, I love to set because they are just like New York City, harlem stand up, this is what they do, this is what it is with them. I love them and I really mean. It is like one of my favorites. You just like mm. Mm that beat. You. Just listen to it. Look it up.

32:40 - Nachi (Host)

You'll love it. Yeah, my, my other favorite rap song was from child called Quest Electric Relaxation. Oh, yes, I love them. Yes, I love that song. It is a beat like you could dance to. It was just like it's. You could get hype.

33:03 - Damaris (Host)

No, it's great. That's a good one yeah.

33:06 - Nachi (Host)

That's a good, good song I like to listen to. I like to listen to the track called class. Again, I would listen to artists, groups from back in the day, definitely more so than I would. You know today's music, so that's my favorite from them.

33:27 - Damaris (Host)

That's a good one, so I'm gonna go. My next one is going to be Shook Ones by Mobdete. First of all, this came out when I was in high school and I think one of the lyrics said I'll stab your brain with your nose bone and I was like, wow, these guys are interesting.

33:50 - Nachi (Host)

I was like that's a visual.

33:52 - Damaris (Host)

That's a visual and I was like, and I appreciate it and it's like the start of it is you just hear the tick, tick, tick from the your gas stove turning on? That clicker and it's like tick, tick, tick, tick. That was the genius of Havoc, the producer, the second. You know that the other half of Mobdete he will produce these beats that were just like crazy.

34:21

And that's why two of his songs made it to my top five, and Shook Ones is one of them. And that whole tick, tick tick is because you know they will cook, you know something on the stove and it's like, yeah, I mean, you know, I'm not here to judge. Y'all do what y'all need to do to survive, but he's like tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick that you hear that. And it starts off with two of my killers and my hundred dollar billers. I'm like yeah, to Ruf, who ain't got no feelings. I'm like mm-hmm, like I'm some thug dude. I'm not, but it resonated with me.

35:02 - Nachi (Host)

I got you feeling like it. Yeah, it resonated with me. I don't know why.

35:06 - Damaris (Host)

It just did. I'm like, I'm a delicate flower, like I said, like I said, but something about it.

35:13 - Nachi (Host)

Right, right. My other song, again another one that you could dance to, is Jay-Z. And what's that little one? Dupri, money Ain't a Thing, oh, okay, yes.

35:27 - Damaris (Host)

Oh, my sister, she just loves that little nice outfit. Yes, yes, yes.

35:31 - Nachi (Host)

Little Bobless dance.

35:33 - Damaris (Host)

Little Bobless, dance you know, I know, you do, I know, you do, I know this is me.

35:40 - Nachi (Host)

This is me.

35:42 - Damaris (Host)

Look, that's what you're gonna get and I love it, but I still go one too. It's cute. It reminds me of you know them club days when he actually went to a club and danced.

35:53 - Nachi (Host)

That's what I'm saying, like that's what you know what I thought of Just going to the clubs and dancing and just getting high. Yeah, it was back in the day. Yeah, we just had fun going to the clubs, I know.

36:05 - Damaris (Host)

I don't even know if clubs even exist now, cause I keep seeing like memes and tweets and stuff about like oh young, like I guess Gen Z and I guess maybe the younger millennials are like I don't. Even these videos have me fooled into thinking that this is what it's like going to a club. But it's not like that, I guess. Now I'm like really that's sad. I feel sad for you. Because, the parties used to be banging.

36:34 - Nachi (Host)

People used to dance.

36:35 - Damaris (Host)

You used to come out sweating. Yes, it was a thing, and you would have like five numbers you like who am I going to call? Who's calling me? It was a thing. I loved it.

36:49 - Nachi (Host)

It was an era man. Oh my goodness.

36:52 - Damaris (Host)

It was an era. Yes, yes, my next one. Ok, this song now. I heard it in a club Done.

37:07 - Nachi (Host)

Annie M the remix by MOP.

37:11 - Damaris (Host)

Listen.

37:13 - Nachi (Host)

Remy.

37:14 - Damaris (Host)

Maz her verse, the bars that she had, like I'm sorry, I know y'all people love Nicki and you love Cardi, that's all great, but Remy, she was that girl. For me that's like first of all she's from Castle Hill, big up, shout out to Castle Hill. She is a true True Castle Hill Bronx chick. I mean, the girl went to prison for someone robbing her for a stack. I mean we're talking about $1,000. I'm like that's some real Bronx shit. Like I would have just taken it out like OK.

37:52 - Nachi (Host)

I'm just not fucking with you anymore. No, I'm not going to rest. No, she was like I'm not going to rest.

37:56 - Damaris (Host)

She was like retribution. She's like you're not going to steal from me, even if it's a dollar.

38:00 - Nachi (Host)

And I'm like you know what, and I love her husband sticking by her through all of that, listen, while she was in prison.

38:05 - Damaris (Host)

I love her yes.

38:08 - Nachi (Host)

Yes, that is method man and marriage.

38:10 - Damaris (Host)

Yes, that's the, I'll be there for you. Yes, they are that personified. Yes, but her bars in that verse. She's like you think you're cute? Ho, take off them, gucci shades, what I was like, ok.

38:28 - Nachi (Host)

This bitch said you think you're cute? Ho, that's how she started. She's ready to fight.

38:32 - Damaris (Host)

You think you're cute? Ho, take off them Gucci shades. I get my dogs to do you dirty. What? Ok, yeah, no, it's great. I love it, I love it, I love her. And I was like, ok, annie, up, you play that. Dunzo, dunzo. My husband, adam, be like calm down, you wallowing out, just chill, because I'm just at home and I'll play that and I'll start wallowing out.

38:56 - Nachi (Host)

And you're doing too much.

38:57 - Damaris (Host)

He's like you're doing too much and I'm like I don't think so.

39:01 - Nachi (Host)

He's like you're doing too much.

39:03 - Damaris (Host)

I think you are, and then I'm like you think you're cute, ho Right. He's like what? Yeah, he's like OK.

39:11 - Nachi (Host)

Bye. I don't even know what you're talking about. I'm like I need to stop.

39:16 - Damaris (Host)

My next one is a go one. But you go next, not you, ok.

39:22 - Nachi (Host)

This one is actually a song that even my kids like, and we'll play it in the car. Click by Kanye.

39:30 - Damaris (Host)

Oh, my goodness, they love that song. I would say, almost do that too, but I love that song too.

39:36 - Nachi (Host)

Yes, that is the best that is the best song it will be in the car. Yes, first of all, the beat is dope.

39:43 - Damaris (Host)

And then again his verse is the best.

39:47 - Nachi (Host)

Yes, it's just so stupid.

39:50 - Damaris (Host)

I mean, he says so many things in that verse. I'm just like he's like. He's like. You know why people get money. You don't spend it.

39:59 - Nachi (Host)

I rather get 80, go chains and go ignorant. He said Spike Lee's going to kill me.

40:05 - Damaris (Host)

I'm just like you are so wild, but you are so correct, but he's talking the truth. He said I'd rather buy 80, go chains and go ignorant. We live with no limits.

40:14 - Nachi (Host)

Yes, yes, yes, brother no limit and you know what part of it is like, yes, we should be living with no limit.

40:24 - Damaris (Host)

And I mean, god bless him, because he kind of did live with no limit and he became a billionaire. He may have lost half his fortune, but half his fortune is 500 million. I'm like he's OK, he's still.

40:34 - Nachi (Host)

OK, he's fine.

40:36 - Damaris (Host)

I don't feel sorry for him, not at all. No, that's a good one.

40:40 - Nachi (Host)

I'm sure he's not feeling bad either. No click is a good one.

40:46 - Damaris (Host)

Oh yeah, yeah, that's a goodie. And OK, well, you know, top one for me right now is the Quiet Storm remix with Little Kim and Mobb D. Again, that beat yes.

41:03 - Nachi (Host)

You have it. Yes, you just killed it.

41:06 - Damaris (Host)

That beat is off the chain. And then Little Kim, she's you know, oh my goodness that I play. That's another song I play in the house and Anna, be like chill You're exhibiting zero chill, like yeah, he's like fall back. He's like stop Because.

41:30 - Nachi (Host)

I'd be like I'm about to go to war and you're getting on high.

41:33 - Damaris (Host)

I'm like I'm getting hope. Here we go again. Light is a rock, bitch Heart is a. This song is dope, sorry, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, oh, my goodness, and I mean even like what you know?

41:48 - Nachi (Host)

who's the other guy on it?

41:50 - Damaris (Host)

Prodigy. Rip to prodigy. But like his, you know, his lyrics are great too, and so I'm just like I just laugh. You know, he's like we come through like fuck it. I'm like, yeah, that's how we come through sometimes, like fuck it, fuck it. I felt seen with that song. I still do that just goes to show you how the lyrics back then.

42:14 - Nachi (Host)

it's like you were, they were relatable. I just don't think that the songs now are really really good. I think that the songs nowadays, nowadays, are as relatable as they were before.

42:26 - Damaris (Host)

But is that because you can't understand what the lyrics are? Because I don't even know what they're saying?

42:33 - Nachi (Host)

No, no, exactly. I don't know what they're saying, so I can't even, I can't even get into it. That, that's, that's it.

42:41 - Damaris (Host)

That in itself is the problem which is kind of sad.

42:44 - Nachi (Host)

You know it's sad, but I mean I guess the kids know they like it, they can get into it somehow.

42:52 - Damaris (Host)

Right.

42:52 - Nachi (Host)

I don't know and I have to ask the question Do you even understand what they're saying, or you just like going with the beat?

43:02 - Damaris (Host)

Right right, I mean what's so what? So what's your final?

43:09 - Nachi (Host)

No, that was it I gave you because we had the same. Ok, that's right, that's right OK all right.

43:17 - Damaris (Host)

Well, we're already like 40 minutes in deep on this, so we could quickly go through the musical artists For me. I'm just going to list my top. I didn't have five, I just did four. Because here's the thing about me I'm just not a real celebrity person, so I don't really care about musical artists or movie artists. So I'm just like I. My top musical artists are Michael Jackson rest in power. We fumbled the bag. We were stupid. Nas I love him. He's always been a cutie. His lyrics are dope and you know, he just knows how to flow.

44:00

He just he's super talented, knows how to paint a picture story and tell a story through his lyrics. And then Mary J Blash, because she is a soundtrack to my life. Every album is a different phase in my life High school, college, young adult, old adult.

44:19 - Nachi (Host)

I mean still slightly older every stage. Yes, she's sitting every stage. I love her for that. And then Prince. I mean come on, damn, come on, I know, yeah, I kind of aligned mine with my favorite songs, because these are my go to artists anyway. So that's Janet Jackson, michael Jackson, jill Scott, mary J Blash and Erica Badu but, yes, prince is another one. And the thing about, oh yes, shade.

44:47 - Damaris (Host)

The thing about Prince for me is just that I love him because he was always unapologetically him and so as a musical artist. I respect those that are able to continue to be authentic with their music and and maintain integrity Right, and by integrity I mean like you didn't. You fought for what it is you wanted to put out there and you did it Right. And not every artist is able to do that and he fought his way to be able to do that and when they didn't allow him he would fucking literally stick a middle finger up their ass and to the point that they're like OK, prince, we'll give you what you want.

45:29

Yeah.

45:29 - Nachi (Host)

You know, so I fuck you. That's what I loved about him.

45:32 - Damaris (Host)

And that's why I had to add him, because he is. He was a G, he's an OG to to now Okay.

45:41 - Nachi (Host)

Nice.

45:41 - Damaris (Host)

Awesome, so why don't we get it to like your favorite cuisine? I didn't have five here, but I'll only put one, I just put a favorite.

45:54 - Nachi (Host)

Yeah, oh, hands down as Dominican food.

45:59 - Damaris (Host)

That's my favorite.

46:01 - Nachi (Host)

And second would be Jamaican Caribbean food. Like I, I would I prefer that over Any other, and she does not step out of her comfort zone. And, and aside from that would be Italian or Mediterranean food. Okay, those are my other two favorites, but that you only have four, okay, I only have one as a favorite cuisine.

46:24 - Damaris (Host)

Here's the thing I didn't include Dominican food, because, again, is what we grew up with. Yes, I love it, like that's just. That goes without saying. But if you ask me, my favorite is going to be Korean. And the reason why I love Korean food is because they are they are, they do such a wonderful job with marinating meats, in particular, red meat. I love beef, I love steak you know how I feel about that and they're great about their marinades and how it gets cooked and I'm just like give me a bowl of rice and some marinated meat and I'm in heaven, yeah.

47:00 - Nachi (Host)

I have and they're me.

47:01 - Damaris (Host)

So pace, I'm like, I'm good, I'm like in heaven, heaven, heaven. Because I love rice, which is, you know, typical for us Dominicans. I love rice, I got to have it Give me some nice marinated meat and you're good. Yes, I love it.

47:16 - Nachi (Host)

I love it.

47:17 - Damaris (Host)

So that's why I put as Korean food as being my, my favorite cuisine. What about your favorite pastime?

47:28 - Nachi (Host)

So this one, yeah, I don't know if I have a favorite pastime, but I'll say this. I'm gonna say my favorite pastime is starting projects that I don't ever finish the.

47:42 - Damaris (Host)

German, I in her, and it's okay, no judgment.

47:45 - Nachi (Host)

No, you know I'll say yes, I love doing different things. So that's how I got into soaping, so that you know, making soap from scratch I love to do, because I love to identify the different ingredients that you can put in the soap. Right, it's just, oh, what can I create here? And sometimes you know the design and just having some artistic you know artistic feel to it is like it's fun, it's. You know, I love to do stuff like that. So crafting and those things like that I love to. You know, reading is another fun pastime. I don't have that much time to do that, but I've always enjoyed reading, you know, if I could sit back and read.

48:36

That's my favorite thing to do, and if I just want to be in a space of, I just want to register. I don't feel like thinking, I don't feel like doing you know, watching crime shows in reality TV. That's what I'll do. Yeah, I am.

48:58 - Damaris (Host)

What's your favorite pastime? Oh, my goodness, you're gonna laugh at this first one. Number one napping. I love a nap, I love to nap. I'm a Leo and I have two cats, and literally I think I just was. I was probably an Egyptian cat in a past lifetime where I was like, worshiped and whatnot, and cats sleep 16 hours out of the 24 hours in a day.

49:26 - Nachi (Host)

I love to nap. Whatever Fight me Might have been a cat in the past.

49:31 - Damaris (Host)

Don't fight me, I don't care. Followed by reading. I do love reading and, like you know, fiction like just light stuff just things that I could just, you know, just a veg out on and followed by being at the beach. Something about being at the beach is just like it's so cathartic. For me it's therapeutic. The water is good. First of all, going into salt water right Is just good because it, you release those toxins spiritually and physically. Thank you.

50:03

Please Leave it out in the ocean Salt water is good for that, and and getting all that vitamin D from the sun naturally is just like it's really great to do for you. You know, physically too it is good.

50:20 - Nachi (Host)

So yeah like that.

50:22 - Damaris (Host)

For me, those are like my favorite past times. I love it. I love it. Now it kind of goes into the favorite chips and places to travel to.

50:37

For me, my number one trip is having gone to Tanzania and I've you've heard me say this before yeah In particular going on a safari and doing that in the Serengeti.

50:55

Honestly, I don't think I've ever been, I've never felt closer to God than I did when being out in that kind of natural habitat, right, because we're in a car, we're the ones in a metal cage and we're observing all that that's around us and that nature is just that's untouched by man. It's, it's very humbling and it was an awesome experience and I and I look forward to doing it again. And I told you I want to do with the kids because I, just as a family, I would like to do that trip again because I just think there's so much you can get out of it and it is just a spectacular, once in a lifetime type of thing and I loved it. And then ending that trip in Zanzibar, a little island off the coast of Tanzania, chef's kiss, the beaches, the water in the Indian Ocean so warm. I've never felt water that warm it's like that water and while I in the Caribbean, the water is turquoise.

52:03

The water color is there. They're like jewel tones, so it's like it would be a deep emerald green or a sapphire blue. At me, it was just beautiful. It's gorgeous. Yeah, yeah. Well, watch out for them. Sea urchins.

52:17 - Nachi (Host)

Really. And those Jurassic sized bugs, oh, I can't even get into that on this one.

52:24 - Damaris (Host)

No, that was a nightmare. I can't. Yeah, yeah, yeah, not you. I don't know if I'm going to sleep well tonight, thank you.

52:32 - Nachi (Host)

I remember you.

52:34 - Damaris (Host)

No, I heard that was the funniest story I heard. It was like what a housefly would look like to you. Imagine that housefly in Jurassic era and that would be like about 20, maybe a hundred times the no, I should be like 2000 times the size. And it was on my door and it was like how am I going to get in? I put that key in, slammed the door so quick and I heard that thing flapping on my door like, oh my God, what is this? I want to go home. It was a nightmare. It was a nightmare but I survived, I bet, oh my goodness.

53:19

But our trip to Greece is up there too.

53:21 - Nachi (Host)

Yes, yes, that was that's. My favorite trip is when we went to Greece. Oh gosh.

53:29 - Damaris (Host)

Number one, it was fun.

53:30 - Nachi (Host)

Just us two traveling together.

53:33 - Damaris (Host)

Yes.

53:33 - Nachi (Host)

The best, but Greece itself is just a beautiful country. I love Santorini especially. Oh my gosh, it's so gorgeous.

53:44 - Damaris (Host)

It was beautiful.

53:44 - Nachi (Host)

Sitting oh.

53:46 - Damaris (Host)

I know us having breakfast on the terrace. Remember we were just like part of their normal breakfast buffet and it's like on the terrace looking out to the agency and it was just like the most gorgeous, picturesque yes it was always sunny. That place was chef's kiss again.

54:07 - Nachi (Host)

Like that was beautiful and the food was great. It was just, yes, it was great. I love it. That was a great trip.

54:13 - Damaris (Host)

Yeah, yeah, no, no, I had good times there. That was up there, and you know, and I'll just lastly say my, my honeymoon to Thailand was was great, because we went to three different areas within Thailand and they all had different climates, which was pretty interesting. So we visited Bangkok, which is the main city, and, yeah, it's, it was like a city, hot, you know, very busy, etc. And then we went up north to Chiang Mai, and that was like not a rainforest, but it was. It was like, you know, it was mountainous, so it was much cooler. And that's where we got to. We went to elephant sanctuary. Please, if you go to Thailand, do not write elephants, please, don't. Yeah. And so they're abused. I mean, elephants are not meant to be ridden by humans.

55:06 - Nachi (Host)

No, they're for entertainment.

55:07 - Damaris (Host)

No, exactly. So we went to a sanctuary and so we got to bathe them, feed them. It was actually really fun, a lot of fun. I did not go into the water to bathe them because, you know me, I was like there's probably bacteria in that. I don't did, I was like, have fun, I'll take pictures of you. But those elephants were hilarious because they would actually spray some people with the water.

55:29 - Nachi (Host)

Like this is why I'm not in the water, because you all play too much. But, get a little bacteria in that eye.

55:38 - Damaris (Host)

Right, and then I'm blind. No, thank you, but are there any? Are there any other trips you want to add to your favorite place?

55:48 - Nachi (Host)

No, I think Greece was my favorite. I mean the other the other trips that we've gone to has been like to the Caribbean island, so all I mean, all those trips were great, but if we're talking about favorite, yeah, okay.

56:04 - Damaris (Host)

Part 2:

00:08 - Nachi (Host)

Welcome to another episode of I'm Not Yellen, I'm Dominican, podcast, hosted by Nachi and DeMaris. Now let's get into favorite drinks. So for me, I didn't. I didn't have a specific drink. So this is what I did. For cocktail, I tend to go with mixed drinks that have a tart, sweet flavor to it. So if I'm ordering at a restaurant or anything like that, I I gravitate to those type of drinks, but I don't have a specific favorite cocktail that I would like.

00:59

But you go next. You're going to laugh at this. I just said favorite drinks and you know what I put in there, because I was like this drink makes me feel good and powerful. I put celery juice. I'm like you know what? Celery juice has kept my ass healthy For the last year and a half. I feel great. Yes, my doctor told me to drink it. I've been drinking it and I'm like you know what this has been good for us and I'm gonna put celery juice in there. I'm gonna put celery juice. It has done you well, celery juice. That is Praise God, I'm healthy.

01:46

And here I am putting down alcoholic beverages, because my next one is on hard liquor. No, no, no, I mean. But then you know, all jokes aside. I mean that that it really. I did really write that down celery juice, but I put an old fashioned because that is a good drink. That's just consistent, it's not out of control, it has a level of sweetness and it's just like it's good. I like it, it's like you know, it's like a classic. Yeah, it is. It is the other thing I put down in terms of hard liquor. I tend to go for rump because I like, because it has a, you know, a sweetness to it a little bit. I like sweet stuff, so it has that sweetness to it.

02:33

So my favorite is is rum. So I, I like barbeque court and and last year I think it was Adam who introduced me to Brugad 1888. And I like that one. Those two are really good. Those are my two favorite the barbeque court and I don't know if we shared with you the 15 year. The 15 years are very good. One barbeque court, 15 year, so they have the year, and the 15, 15 chefs kiss, like that's the kind of rum you could just have on the rocks, similar to 1888. Yeah, no, I like those two. Those are, those are good rums. But it's not who's here, as my bestie, yo Liz, was like this is actually good rum.

03:22

It's called Pouste. Yeah, it's smooth. Yeah, yeah, she was like it's smooth, we're like, oh, okay, we're like how we're? It was like pure Ethel alcohol. I was like who ordered the rubbing alcohol? You know who's the worst person? Go on, yes, yes, yes.

03:39

Because we went to this rum bar yard and we told him we like yes, he went and got a strength thing. He was like what do you guys want? Like well, we want to try this, this, uh, the Pouste air, whatever it is pronounced. I said we want that, we want to try, because Liz said that that's smooth and she sent us a screenshot of it. So we, we sent Adam go to the bar. This is the one we want. Okay, adam comes back with our drink and this cup full of fruit and we're like, oh, they gave you fruit. And he was like, yeah, because the bartender was saying that this is not a really great drink, it's a bottom shelf liquor. Yeah, they usually use that, right, they use that to. You know, uh, to um make mixed drinks with, because it's not good to just have a loan.

04:30

And when I said this thing was horrible, oh, my God, it's terrible, it's an under, it was. It's an understatement. We took a say like what is this?

04:42

And then we got on Adam, because we were like now, if this man told you are you asked you several times are you sure you want this? Are you sure? Because it wasn't like he just served it to him and say no. He was like are you sure you want this? Because yes, because you know this is not something you want to drink straight. You usually want to mix it. He said, no, that's what my wife and my sister loves, that they want it. And he brought that to us. He like, oh my goodness, that nasty, we can't stand you right now. He was like it's not good. No, it's not. And you right, and you knew this. Why didn't you get us what? Get us something different? He was like well, that's what you're asking. I didn't want to hear your mouth about. Why do, why did, why did not bring you a booze air? But, oh my God.

05:30

And then we, we texted Liz and was like this is the best part, why you told us this, why you told this shit is nasty. She want to tell us oh, y'all just weak. We like, oh my goodness, or you just like bad liquor? No, how about she only drank it with, yeah, that she drank it with your colada, right, and we're like, okay, so this isn't a good from right, and you had no idea what it was like. Oh, as you imply that I was dying, I was dying, yeah, I mean not that y'all don't get that. Do not recommend it. No, like we said, bob Rancourt or Brugal, 1880. Is it 1888 or 1880? I think it's 1888, right, I think it's 1888. Oh, yeah, it's the one with a lot of eights. Yes, there's not many, you can't miss it. Yeah, yeah, you can't miss it, but it's a good one, it's a good one.

06:29

And then, lastly, for me under the favorite drinks was I could do with the top shelf tequila, a top shelf tequila, neat or on the rocks, so like Don Julio 1942, I could drink that, I could sip it, right, so that's if I want to get a buzz, but it has like a decent taste to us, that I'm like, okay, I could, I could drink it that way straight. Because the problem with me as I've gotten older is that if I get cocktails with too much sugar, then I feel I'll get a bad hangover the next day, right, okay, so I like to minimize Sugar. Isn't doing well for your body. No, no, no, my body, my body, rejects everything that people like in life. Yeah, yes, I like people like oh, I love dessert. I'm like, I like fruit. I know I can't and it's really, honestly, is the way my body metabolizes that stuff. I just don't feel good. So I don't eat stuff that doesn't make me feel good. And as I've gotten older, my body's like oh, you think you cute hoe, take off them, gucci. No, so I can't, I can't have like sugary drinks, I'll pay the price. Yeah, yeah.

07:40

My next one is actually a non alcoholic drink and that's homemade lemonade. And back when Poppy would make us lemonade, that his lemonade was the very best. Yeah, I, and that's my favorite Like again, again I, I like tart, sweet drinks. So, non alcoholic, I would go for like a lemonade or a mixture of, you know, lemonade and another juice, but lemonade has my favorite non alcoholic drink, oh well, so then we both had non alcoholic drinks, celery juice, and I love it, I love it, I love it.

08:22

Oh, my goodness, sister, which, which, which topic do you want to get into next? Which, um, which category? I guess? What favorite movies? This for me, is in no particular order, but I'm going to say coming to America. Let me guess I know you have that there, is it on your list? I love coming to America.

08:52

I mean, that is a movie. That is a movie we grew up with. We grew up with and I can watch it repeatedly. It is, and it's, funny every time. Funny every time when money throws the milkshake at Eddie Murphy. He's like y'all throw this out for me. I don't know why. That just tickles me. He throws the milkshake at him and he's drenched in our pink, you know, strawberry milkshake. I'm like, I'm just like hey, why would you throw a full of milk shake at someone and not handed to them, knowing that it's full? Like you, mad, disrespectful. I like it. It's hilarious With his soul. So, with his soul, glow, yes, with his soul. Glow here Like.

09:36

That movie is iconic, is legendary. It has scenes that people repeat to this day. Sexual chocolate is a thing, martin Luther the king is a thing, and you've heard me say that before and you don't know why I said that you ain't with it. You don't know, you're not in the know. That's it. Right, right, right. Watch that movie, you'll see what I mean. Right, okay, Thank you, right, oh, my goodness, I think I thought it was really funny.

10:07

Another good one is good fellas. That's a movie that I can. Oh my god, that's my next movie. Come on, actually, really, yes, because I could watch that. Yeah, when he's coming, the lady go around the corner. He's like no, the dress is, they're just a couple doors down, right there, like, nah, I ain't going down there, you crazy. He's like just go, yeah, trying to kill me. He's like just go inside. Yeah, right there. Listen, that movie is a classic beyond classic, beyond classic. Like, I mean, I love some Robert DeNiro Over and over again. Yeah, rip to Ray Leota. Oh, yes, he was good in it. He was good as an addict. He was good, as you know, a new boyfriend as a husband. Oh, my goodness, that movie was just like layers upon layers. Yes, it was great. It was great. I love good fellas. That is definitely one of my favorites. I kind of didn't have a top five, but I don't know reminded me, so I added this in there.

11:16

Wolf of Wall Street, another Scorsese movie, and I think you know I'm not going to lie I do enjoy watching that movie. Every time I watch it, it's just, it's always fun. Leonardo DiCaprio is awesome in it. He's such an idiot Like he plays that guy, jordan Belfort, like wonderfully, and there's so many scenes from that movie. I mean we use it in one of our memes that we created. He's like I'm not going anywhere, I'm not leaving, I'm not leaving, I'm not fucking leaving. You know like it's just so outrageous.

11:51

And it really showed the debauchery of the 80s, I think to the T, even though we were not adults, we were kids. But the 80s was a, it was a time, it was an era. It was. You know, it was survival of the fittest, especially in New York City, because this place was a jungle, it was out of control, but at the same time it was like there was so much happening to good and bad, and it was just, it was a time. And that movie kind of captured that part of the city. I thought really well, during that time yeah, that was a good movie. Another good movie that that I picked.

12:37

And again, I chose these movies just based on the fact that, hey, would I watch this more than two times? Right, and the color purple is another one. It's just something. Yes, it's that. It's the love story of sisters, yes, sisterhood, right, it's like you have someone that that has gone through so much throughout her life and her love for her sister Does not die. And then you have another sister far across the world, and still she was just like I'm not gonna give up on my sister, it's just that, it's that. It to me it's a love, it's a love story, yes, ahead, and I just love it. And it's a movie that again I would watch over and over again, like it's not something like I already watched. I can't watch this again.

13:36

I, because of her, was definitely a movie. Oh my life. Yes, no, that, yeah, that's a good movie. I am a ton of great, great. No, yes, yes, I mean you'll get your black card revoke if you don't understand some, some of the scenes or you don't know where certain things come from. But up. The Another movie for me was the shining.

14:05

I Love a scary movie and I love a Stephen King scary movie and the shining. Growing up, we watched the WPIX edited versions, right, and I thought that in itself the movie was creepy and just like, but like the right level of creepiness, right. And then, as an adult, when I watched the unedited version, which I didn't, which I thought we had watched, I don't know why the WPIX that that channel would actually show the unedited version. Well, when I saw the unedited version, I guess and probably in my 20s I was like, holy shit, is that guy in the rabbit suit really giving head to this duel on a bed? I was like what's happening? What's good, what did that happen? You're like, I don't remember that, listen, listen. I was like, oh, this movie is crazy. You know, I like that movie. I mean it was good. It's very sinister, scary, and we love a scary movie. We grew up with that. Yeah, you're gonna enjoy my next one.

15:15

It's funny because I don't have it. I don't have any scary movies on my list. What you mean? You don't have Amityville horror, the original. I have four movies and that fifth one I have empty.

15:32

And I was actually last night I was thinking about, I was just like, oh, cuz that I was thinking on the fact that I didn't have any horror films and that's my favorite genre, right, it's just kind of weird, it's very weird, like. But again, I was doing this based on movies that I would watch repeatedly. Yeah, that's fair. And and so a lot of the horror movies is not any anyone that I would be like, oh what, watch that again, you know. Or if I do watch it again, it's just like I'm not really paying attention because, right, cuz you're like, you know what's happening, mm-hmm. However, amityville Harbor is one that I've watched repeatedly and it's still it's creepy to me.

16:14

I hate it and the original, but I saw what remakes the original one, the original one, yes, it just gave you that feel of, oh, this shit happened. Right, I Can't even imagine being in the house and all this shit has happened. Hell to them. Oh, my goodness, that. That. That's a movie that I love to hate, cuz I will watch it. I will punish myself and watch it again. You really would. You're so crazy like that. Oh, my goodness, you're so right. Oh, you love. You do love to hate that movie. Scary, but I'll watch it again because I am certifiable. No, you're gonna love this one. Oh, I'm sorry, go ahead.

17:02

My other, my favorite, my other favorite movie that I put down was the sound of music. I was gonna put that up, but I was like I can't, I can't. It is one of my favorites, I love it. I Used to watch it a lot growing up, and even younger, though, because they used to play it around the holidays. Now I don't, they don't play it as much. No, we the last time we saw we looked it up. We like pulled it up on, yeah, I think, the Amazon stick, yeah, but back then they used to just play it all the time and I would get so excited every time it would come on, cuz I just love that movie, yeah. So it was great. The music was awesome and just like the thing you know, yes, my favorite things, I mean like that song is just like yes, I do love that's a. That's a great one. There's very nostalgic for us. It's. Yes, it reminds yes, it reminds me of Christmas time, being at home with mommy and poppy and just watching that movie. And it was awesome, it was a great movie.

18:16

So my last movie is Creep show, the first one, again another movie based off of a Stephen King book. Now, creep show, which y'all need to understand, is that If you try to watch it now, you can be oh my god, the effects are so old. Yes, it was 80s movie, don't I mean, what do you? But of that time it was great. It was an anthology of short stories in this one movie and one of my favorite ones. One of the stories in that movie I mean there were two, but one of them was the dad that came back from the grave wanting his birthday cake from his daughter.

19:00

Now, I know y'all are familiar with you, know I turner, and what is it? Loves. What's the movie with Tina Turner? What love? What love got to do with it? Yeah, what's love got to do with it? And I turn this like eat the cake anime.

19:18

This one, this dad comes from the grave. He's like where's my cake? I'm like, first of all, her name is Badelea. That's wild. But she's like this. A rich family and, of course, the dads on their estate, because they have such vast estate that the cemetery is on their state, go figure, yeah, you want your dad in your backyard and they're celebrating their gathering for his birthday post-death. And he's like he comes back from the dead. He's like where's my cake? And I love that. He's banging on the table. He's like but dealie, yeah, I'm like it's great, I love it. I love it. Yeah, that was good, it was good, it's a great movie. Yes, my last one is it's gonna be unpopular, but I love it because it just takes you back to that time. Oh, my goodness, oh, cricklet, spike Lee, oh, yes, I love that movie. It is like, oh, my goodness, just takes you back during that time as a child.

20:31

Yeah, and the different games and just dealing with the different type of people in the neighborhood, like the crackheads. The Heav'n Attics by the Friars was the Heav'n Attics. It's like you knew who they were. Hector, oh, yes, Hector, on Cedric Avenue. Okay, okay, but and and those games like a hot peas and butter. I swear, I don't think anyone outside of New York knew what that was. And I saw on a Twitter thread people were like talking about different games and someone wrote like a few people like, yeah, hot peas and butter. I swear, I don't think anyone outside of New York knew what that game was. And I saw on a Twitter thread people were like talking about different games and someone wrote like a few people like, yeah, hot peas and butter. And I think, yes, like some, not necessarily from New York, but yeah, they Really Cause I've brought that up to people and they're like, what game is that?

21:19

I was like you never play that and I just Get your ass because we're like the yes, got a game is that. Don't go finding the belt, and if someone did you better run, Run, haul ass. And there was no base and like I don't even understand, like where's the safe space in this game? And the part. That part was that we were the young, we were on the young end of our group of cousins, so our older cousins, which were like eight years Older than that, I'm like y'all are gonna beat us and catch us like they mad, disrespectful. I'm gonna bring this up at the July 4th. Yeah, they gotta act like they don't remember. They're like amnesia, like what are you talking about?

22:05

Okay, but Brooklyn just takes, takes me back. It really does. It's just like the neighborhood, it's just like you, although you, um, although it's not like a small. New York is not like you're your small town. Your block was your small town. It's like everyone knows each other, everyone's familiar, you know people. Your block was the village. You, right, right, it definitely was. So it just took, it, took me back.

22:35

Nice, no, that's a good one. It's one of my favorite. No, that's a good one. That's a good one. I mean, swikely is annoying as fuck, but yeah, that's a good one. Yeah, that's one of my favorites. Okay, so let's get into favorite shows. I love you, star sister.

22:55

This, this was, uh, I, another difficult one, really. So, yeah, because I don't know if I really have a favorite shows. But then there are shows that I could watch, I could, I could watch a few times, or they have so many different. I could watch repeat and stuff and still be engaged. So SVU, law and Order oh my goodness, you are my favorite. I love it. I love SVU. Yes, oh my goodness, I love it. I'll watch that anytime. I'll even watch repeat.

23:37

You love a true crime and murder type of thing. Yes, this is that subnuayale. Yeah, and most of my yeah, I think all of my shows here are criminally based. I don't know, it doesn't seem like criminally done. What are you preparing for? I don't know, I don't know. I just well, in terms of true crime, I just like to know what people will be thinking about, how they get to the point of wanting to kill somebody, like how did you get here? How did you get here? I, how did that happen? Personally, it's so I can see it. If that ever, if I ever come across it, you're like I need to see the sign. You're like I know what comes next. Right, right, you better watch out. Yeah, and also for me to warn people. That is true. That is true. Right, you might want to look at you. Sure you want to trust her, but I love SVU.

24:37

Svu is one of my favorite shows. Okay, that's fair. I'll start with. I had quite a few, but this was a tough one. Similar to you like, would I watch it repeatedly? What is it that I like about it? But I'll start with Sex and the City. I love that show. I could re-watch that show. Yeah, that show was good. Yeah, me too. And it's just like.

25:06

I love that show because it was in my early 20s when it came out, or like when I came right out of college, and it was just like, yeah, like the clothes, and you know how I love clothes. I'm like the fashion on that show with Carrie. I'm like chef's kiss, like yeah, they're like ooh, yes, girl, do it. Yes. And you know, it was just about these women that had doing their own things in New York City and just like living their best lives, and it's like how could you not love that? And then they were talking about sex, and they were freely talking about it Kind of reminded me more of your friends, because your friends are so out of pocket. I know that's what love, sex and the City. Yeah, I'm like this is like my friend. You had your own Samantha, my little group, yes, yes, and she knows who she is.

25:55

No, it was great, like I love that show and so for me it was just it captured New York at a great time and I love the fashion and I could watch it again and still enjoy the fashion and I feel like it's out of place. You know, yeah, no, that definitely was a good one. I didn't think about that one, tina. Good, okay, again, I went with these Kermalini based shows and that's okay, sister, because that's what you like, because you're gonna see. You're gonna see where I'm going with my shows. So, yeah, I already know the number one I'm gonna say to the end. So my next one is Snowfall.

26:37

Oh, yeah, I didn't see that show but I've always heard good things about it. It is really good because it one, it set in the I wanna say like 17s, early 80s, like in that time, and just how fucked up, you know, with how the CIA is the culprit of the drugs and the guns and all of that. That's in our community, what? Not the government, except, yeah, the United States of America, yes, the very one. I trust them so much. But I think they did a beautiful job of how one can get involved and blow up and then quickly, quickly fall from grace, right. So, yeah, I'm sad that that series ended, but it was great. I feel like going back and watching it.

27:40

Oh, okay, I would add the Chappelle show. It was two seasons, but it was two seasons of greatness. Yes, everyone went to the Chappelle show. Yes, and I don't know why I kept getting these free tickets. I went with you, I took Natasha, I took an ex-boyfriend, like I was constantly going to that show. I don't know how I got those free tickets, but it was. That show was creative.

28:06

Genius Of Dave Chappelle and I enjoy him as a comic, I love him, his show and in Living Color was another good show that I think they you know they did a really great job with it. It's like always kept you coming back wanting to watch the show and the skits that they had. I think that in Chappelle show is really good. Yeah, I can't believe he was only two seasons, I know, yeah, yeah, he did so many great. No, it was good for him. Classics, classics.

28:51

I came out of that and it was like a laughter, like, no, that hurts you. Yes, like I would cry, like literally cry, yes, of how funny. Like I can't my my chest is hurting because I'm laughing so much. His skits are fucking hilarious. Yeah, no, they were. They were so out of pocket. It was just ridiculous. It was great.

29:15

If you need, if you need to pick me up, that is a show to watch. Yes, yes, that is definitely a show to watch. If you just want to laugh, hold your side. Yes, yes, watch that show. Yes, I was out of control. Good, good laugh. That is definitely the show to watch. Yes, yes, oh, I love this show. Yeah, no, my next one would be this I mean, I had quite a few. I'm just going to throw it out there, I don't care. It's the Twilight Zone, that's it. Yeah, that one, the original. Yeah, I love watching the marathon over. Yeah, new Year's Day, new Year's Eve, into New Year's Day, love it.

30:02

I love a sci-fi, twisty, horror kind of genre. That's my thing, that's my jam. You definitely like sci-fi movies and shows. I do, I do. Oh, my God, what was that show? The Prisoner, not she. That's my number one show. Come on, you got me. She knows me. No, no, we're going to wait. Wait Y'all, okay, okay, okay, I'm going to go between. I'll just quickly go through the it's Insecure Game of Thrones. First of all, insecure. I'll say this Insecure is very good.

30:36

I love that show because it was like for me, the first black show that was just kind of unapologetically black in the sense that they didn't go into providing context on certain things because they just didn't. That wasn't their job to do. It was to how we grew up watching these mainstream shows that showed, you know, white culture and we didn't know, we didn't have the context, some of the things that they did, because that's not some things that we did in our culture. But we had to learn right by watching. We just had to figure it out. And Insecure approached that for black people. It was just like there were things that they would say and I'm like, I wonder if white people got that. But I knew, I'm like, but I knew what they I mean, and I'm sure Plenty of white people got it, obviously because it was successful. You can't be successful just black folks. But I love that about that show because they didn't try to explain everything because it would have then just even felt disingenuous, because we don't go around explaining things to each other, right, right, right, as a people. So I thought the execution of that was great, so that's why it's up there as a favorite show.

31:48

Game of Thrones I read the books, so for me the shows were great up until the end where they fumbled the bag anyway, but I still love the show. Throughout, it was pretty good. Yes, yeah, you guys got me hooked on on that one during our Christmas vacation. Yes, and and you know it's crazy is that I don't want to get mad at me because I want to keep watching the show that he already saw like four times at that point, like, not, she ignored him. He's like, he's like why you kept watching the episodes and didn't let us know he's? He's, he's upset, he's ludicrous, like no, I wouldn't. I was like I don't know what you're talking about. I'm not co-signing any of this. You're weird, I'm not right. I'm like yeah, it is right. Yeah, I didn't see it. Hello, hello, the show. Let me get you know, let me watch it. I don't need to wait on you.

32:45

I know that was a good show, it was, it was Well. I guess in my other shows they're all criminal based criminal minds, with the mother one, the power and power, or the three of his books, because he has like three different series. The only one I didn't like was the one with with Tommy. I want to have a gotten into too much. I never even finished the first power. I mean not that it was bad, I don't know. I think maybe I didn't have stars or something, so I was like I didn't really try hard enough, but I think it's available, like on Hulu or something. Maybe I could go into it. I think so. Yeah, and then the lost show that was on ABC. I never got it. You hated that show for the get.

33:35

I love a sci-fi show and that show was just weird. Was this a stupid? Yes, it was weird, it was crazy. I loved it. It was like about time traveled and all kinds of things. It was just like it was bizarro and I loved it. I ate it up. I ate it up. I thought it was so stupid. I was like, what are you watching? I ate it out and did, I think. But but at some point they just had to end it because they just kept raising too many questions and not answering them and it was just getting frustrating. Yeah, no, it's like, this is ridiculous, yes, ridiculous, this is ridiculous, oh my goodness. And then succession is the second to best show for me. Succession on HBO oh, my goodness, like that. And I watched that. Yeah, yes, that show was crazy.

34:23

It's also fun to watch these billionaires live their lives and you're like, wow, okay, this is awesome. Oh, so you don't ever drive to Long Island, you just take the helicopter, always because you avoid traffic. I'm like, oh, you don't live in traffic Like us, okay, no, no, no, they, they. They're like and they will literally go to the Hamptons for a day and come back to the city and they would do that via helicopter. I'm like that, that's the way to do it. Okay, got it. Nice, nice, yeah, it's a fine ear, rich man. Yeah, no, no, I, I loved, the show was great and the writing was awesome. Yeah, and I was like I love the chef's kiss for that one.

35:05

And then I'll just end with my all time favorite show that I discovered on like randomly on a Sunday night I think it was on PBS is called the prisoner. It is like the marriage. What is this? And not to be, yes, not to be confused with, what is it? Oh, that show that was on Fox. Yeah, prison guard is something. No, it's called the prisoner.

35:35

It is a British 1960 show and it's basically about a guy who was in the equivalent of I don't know the UK CIA. He leaves and they're like nah brah, you don't just leave the CIA, you know the UK CIA. And he gets kidnapped and wakes up the next day on this island that he can't ever leave. So literally every episode is about him trying to say and y'all, when I say the marriage, we watch this faithfully. I would love that show and say what are we watching here? No, no. And every time when he would try to escape, like this white balloon from the ocean would come up and chase him down. And you know, when I fell out, when I knew I was seen, was when the Simpsons recreated that on an episode. I was like I know what the fuck you're talking about. I know, I know, I know I was like the prisoner. I loved it.

36:38

That show was great and everyone's known by a number. They don't go by names, they're like number two, number one, he was number six. I got out of it. He liked it. I'm like this is why we're married, of course. Of course he enjoyed that show. He enjoyed that show. Oh my God, I see that. I see that. I see that shows praises. You hated it because you don't have the vision you have. I don't know, you don't. You don't see what I see. No, that's okay, we'll agree to disagree. There we go, we'll leave it at that. Chef's kiss that show, watch it, look it up, find it Classic. Don't bother y'all. Wow, oh, my goodness, we're getting towards the end.

37:39

I figured you know I threw in these questions at the end because I thought it would be fun to kind of hear about, like, if you could have lunch with anyone, who would that be? If you got dinner with anyone, who would that be? And if you could party with anyone, who would that be? I'm curious to see what you said about these things and why. But if you could have lunch with anyone, nachi, who would it be?

38:02

I would have lunch with Oprah, okay, and yeah, I would have lunch with her because I the fact that she built her empire basically from the floor up and she has her own damn network. It is a bomb, it's a thing, it is, whether you like it or not. You gotta respect the gang, right, exactly, and actually through her show her daytime show is where I found a lot of these self-help books I used to. I used to read back then I'm like, oh yes, who's this person? Let me get into this, because that's when she was going through her own journey and she has always shared her challenges and how she had to go through a lot of them and realize that she had to love herself and learn that because it wasn't something that she knew how to do and she turned that around. So I definitely admire her for a lot of different reasons. So Oprah would be one that I would have lunch with. No, that's a good one. You're gonna laugh at this one.

39:31

I would have lunch with Derek Grace III. Now he is an IG influencer and the reason why I respect dude because now he's a black dude and when I say he's got tats, I mean he's got tats all over his face, body, whatever. But what I appreciate about him is that he is a man about his family. He's an entrepreneur and he's about taking care of his family and teaching them to continue to grow the wealth and pass it down generations. And he does that by how he's building his portfolio of things, and that includes real estate, online ventures, all kinds of things, and he does it so that his children can learn from him, and while I don't really align with his personal life choices, I respect, though, the fact that he takes care of all of his children and their mothers. He understands the importance of that, and also of raising his kids to not be indoctrinated by the school system and relying on any government system.

40:50

He is self-sufficient for all intents and purposes, and I respect that so much because I'm not really big on authority, especially the government, just kidding, see, I love the USA, I do, but so, and he's also the type of black person that the mainstream media would never highlight, because he is a huge supporter of the Second Amendment, and so he exercises his right to bear arms legally and safely, and not only does it by himself, but for his family. His children are trained as well to have respect for firearms and handle it safely, obviously under his guidance, and so, again, I respect that, because when we get our land, we're going to have to protect ourselves too. So I just respect that about him, and so, yeah, I would have lunch with him, because he's hilarious, he's funny, he's crazy. I mean, again, like you know, he is and his attitude has always been like I'm not here to live up to your expectations Exactly. I have my own standards that I live by and that's the only one that. That's important. That's it. So I'm not worried about it and that's what I respect about him is that he is always authentic and true to himself and he moves with integrity. Now, whether you agree with his lifestyle, that is that's your decision. But I'm not here to judge and I frankly don't care about how he lives his personal life or that he legally and safely handles firearms, because he has the right to do so and they would never want to show black people doing that also. So that in itself is a setup and they would never, you know, reflect that part of society that actually can do that. So, yeah, no, I would have lunch with him. I know people looking about they're going to be like really demerits. Okay, yeah, really, you want to get to know me, right? Yeah, yeah, oh, it's funny because, in terms of influencers, I actually put down for dinner the hood healer.

43:29

You might be the one that's a good one. Yeah, yeah, I've been following her for a long time. Yeah, you have when? So you've seen her come up, yeah, her evolution, yeah, yeah, and it's funny because she's a type person Another one, I would say that lives up to her own standards and speaks freely, you know, without any concern of backlash or and that's a brave thing to do. That is, that is, and still stand 10 toes down when people come at her and I would love to talk with her. Yeah, they do, but they also.

44:13

I also feel like she's cat, because I feel like they think that she doesn't think before she speaks and she actually does. It's like you just don't like her delivery, right, you don't like her delivery. And also, she questions things, and I think people are afraid to question what they've always known to be reality, right, and I think that's the problem. So, when you're about to burst their bubble, they have a hard time reconciling that they get triggered and they come on attack versus kind of questioning like why do you think that way, or why do you feel that that's the situation, versus what this is. And have an actual dialogue, because she always is open for dialogue, right, which I find very interesting. It's just like listen, if you again. So what I'm saying? I want to talk, let's talk, let's have a dialogue Because I want to understand your side as much as you should understand where I'm coming from.

45:11

People love to be triggered by her. They love to be triggered by her and I'm just like why do you allow yourself to get triggered by someone you don't even know? Instead, to the point that you just raised, why don't you just ask yourself the question of like, well, if I'm being triggered, why am I being triggered by what she said? Yeah, yeah, exactly. And then join her town hall? Because the thing is, she'll start a conversation on Twitter because I follow her on Twitter and IG, but she'll start a conversation on Twitter. People on Twitter go crazy. They go ape shit. They're like oh my god, what did you say about pregnant ladies? Well, what did you say about postpartum depression? They go ape shit. And she'll say meet me on IG, I'm going live. Why? Because A you have. Before you could buy your blue check on Twitter, you had 240 characters to write something.

46:02

She's not here to write down the story of why she thinks XYZ. She's saying let's have a discussion on IG where I can actually expand and provide more context, and she does, but people never want to hear that. So people, the ones that like to just stay triggered. They'll be like, oh my god, but did you see that tweet that she said yeah, but did you listen to her explain? Oh no, they did it Because you didn't want to. Then you would understand you didn't want to. And also, you were triggered because she's talking about you when you hit dogs with holler.

46:33

Ok, I mean because she says a lot of things. I mean, she been told people in New York to leave and I'm like I'm still here. God help me. I don't know what's going to happen in this city. I'm still here, but I'm still here, but I love her. She's telling us to leave and I don't know what to doubt. Yeah, no, but that's what she's talking about. I'm serious. What should I be looking for? I'm like I can't, I can't. What's happening? I can't really mind. I'm like, ok, not today, but no, that's a good choice. I'm not here to tell you everything. No, really, that's a good choice for dinner. Ok, so my choice for dinner would be Keanu Reeves. Ok, yeah, I mean, he is my hall pass. I mean stop, no, so Keanu.

47:15

Here's the thing about Keanu. Right, I've seen how he does the training outside of his John Wick movies and I'm like he knows how to handle all sorts of weapons and I am a weapon, I know that's the right. I was like OK Keanu, and then also, he's just so grounded spiritually, like I love that about him. He is not about that life, you know. As far as I can tell, he's never out in the spotlight and when he is, he's with his woman and he like I'm like, I know he wouldn't even be like girl, he wouldn't even try to go with me, because he's so like, he's just like a good dude, like he just, you know, and he's spiritually grounded, which I love, like he's just a nice person and if he isn't, no one's come out to say otherwise. You know, like that man has just been chilled, laid back and honestly, he is a type of person that he's like well, it comes to him. Well, it comes to him and what's meant for him is meant for him and so, yeah, I would enjoy a nice dinner with him. Nice, have a nice steak dinner with him. Yes, yes, yes, with this fine ass.

48:25

Oh, my goodness, this next one who would you party with? This one was hard, because today I don't want to party with anybody. I know, I know I like party. I don't know, I don't want to go. However, if you caught me when I was in high school, early 20s, I would say Diddy, diddy, what's up? Oh yeah, no, nah, he's so crazy, but yeah, back then. Yeah, I mean he might get you at a basketball party in the stampede, but he kind of. No, my ass almost got killed y'all trying to go to a party Party hosted by him, ok, organized by him, yes, but that's funny.

49:05

I similar to you, like yeah, I'm not going out these days, so I have no one right now, but probably like 10 years ago, I would have said Ray J, ray J is a dude. That is just mad funny he is. I love his humor. I love a funny dude. I love his humor. No, I would never date him. It's not even like that, it's just like as a friend to hang out with. Oh my god, I love his humor. It's sophomoric. He's just so ridiculous.

49:34

He does not take himself seriously. Like, he does not. Like I know you've seen that video of him Like I think he was selling glasses or something or like. And he's like these glasses are unbreakable. And the guy who he was talking to was like no, they're not. This is impossible. He's like they're unbreakable. He's like go ahead, break them. And the dude's like I'm not going to break them. He's like go ahead, break them. The dude takes a glass and snaps him in half. Ray J says I don't care, I was like you're a wild dude Like. He's like I don't care, he just said they were unbreakable. Now you're like I don't care. But I know, like out of out of club or something, he would be straight fun, he would be fun to party, he would be fun and I would hang out with him. I would hang out with him. Hands down, yeah, that's a good one. He does seem like a fun one.

50:27
