Spring Equinox: The Real New Year

It's time to set intentions for Nature's new year—the spring equinox—on March 20th. This is the perfect time to bring forth what you've been meditating and contemplating during the winter months and plant the seeds for those ideas and lifestyles to come to fruition.

Did you know there is a biological explanation for' spring cleaning'? During the shorter days of winter, we produce more melatonin, a hormone that plays a role in your sleep cycle—you're more sleepy in the winter months. This is your time to rest—to hibernate. So as we approach spring, the days get longer, we produce less melatonin, and we get more energy from the sun. And with this burst of energy, we put it towards decluttering and preparing for when we're going to be out here in these streets interacting with our peoples, enjoying the sun—and being able to put forth the energy towards our intentions.

This is why it does NOT make sense to start resolutions or set intentions in the middle of winter on 12/31—”dique” New Year's eve—fake news. Y'all don't meet your goals in January because your body is telling you to take a nap instead.

So why the spring equinox? We get into why now and what you can do to prepare and align your goals for the new season. Tune in to the full episode below.
